Our Project: The Digital Inclusion Hub
Family Tech CIC is developing a community digital inclusion hub designed to support local residents with everyday technology challenges, improve digital confidence, and create a welcoming space for learning, support, and connection.
The Vision for the Hub
Our vision is to build a local hub where people can access practical digital support in a friendly, non-judgemental environment. The hub will help residents take part more fully in modern life by making technology easier to understand and use.
What the hub will offer
The hub will provide:
walk-in digital support
help setting up and using smartphones, tablets, and laptops
support with email, video calls, and online accounts
accessibility guidance and assistive technology support
online safety and secure browsing advice
workshops on digital skills, wellbeing, and confidence
back-to-work digital support for jobseekers and people returning to employment

Who the project is for
The project is designed to support people who experience digital exclusion, including:
older adults
disabled people
people with accessibility needs
low-income households
unemployed people and job seekers
young people and adults who need help building digital confidence
residents who feel left behind by rapid technological change
This matters, why?
Because many essential services are now digital by default. Without support, people can miss out on healthcare, communication, education, benefits, and job opportunities. Our project helps remove those barriers and ensures people can participate more confidently in community life.
Pilot phase
We are currently developing a pilot version of the hub to test demand, refine delivery, and gather evidence. The pilot will help us understand what support is most needed, what outcomes are achieved, and how the service can grow sustainably.

Long-term aim
Our long-term aim is to establish a trusted, community-rooted space that can be supported through grants, partnerships, commissioned work, and trading activity.

Are You Interested in the Digital Inclusion Hub?
Help shape our pilot by telling us what support you need.
Your response will help us gather evidence of local need and shape the hub around real community priorities.
